Impressionists in the Studio

Part of this term ,some of the Year 5/6  classes have been studying the artworks of the Impressionists.Together we have looked at the way they used brush strokes to create movement and portray light in their paintings.The children used the inspiration of the impressionists artists to create a textured landscape that delves into the play of light and employs layering techniques to construct their scenes.They did this first with paints and then plasticine comparing and contrasting the differences in working with paint compared to plasticine.
