At the start of this term the year 2 students looked and manipulated textiles. We took inspiration from the Noongar artists Marcelle and her niece Yolande. Doll making and storytelling was passed down to Yolande from her aunt. She explained that “Sitting together, telling stories, passing down stories” are an integral part of Noongar culture.
We made our own dolls and finished the activity by sharing our own stories with others through our dolls.
