Sports Day Update

Special thanks to Sally and Jeff, our two PE specialists, who have packaged an excellent Sports Day under very trying circumstances. They have both worked very hard to ensure that all our students have a fun filled and exciting day, encouraging our students to do their best in a range of physical activities. Thanks also to all staff for their preparation leading up to Monday.

As published previously on our Blog, we will post live action on the day. The live stream will continue for the entire day, with intermissions as a still image.   To access the live stream on a desktop/laptop computer, click on this link on the day. You may be asked two questions;

  1. Install the application or join in the browser -> Installation is not necessary, opening in the browser is fine.
  2. Sign in or Join Anonymously -> Anonymous is fine, but if you have a Microsoft Account and want to use it, feel free.

We encourage/expect students to wear their House colours, bring plenty to eat and drink and very importantly bring their school hat. Although Monday will be a beautiful day, the wearing of hats is an expectation. If your child does not have a hat see details below re purchasing. Please ensure all hats and clothing is labelled so we can return it to your child if misplaced.

If buying a hat and paying on Qkr!, please email the receipt number to brightonps.info@schools.sa.edu.au.   Emailing your receipt and sending your child to the office will allow us to distribute hats before Sports Day activities start, as the Qkr! report isn’t generated until 9:30am. Hats will also be available from the Front Office from 8.20 am-cash or credit card.

A friendly reminder that this year’s Sports Day is parent free-for obvious reasons, as clearly explained previously. We ask that all parents respect this. Parents can, if they wish, view from Highet Avenue on the northern side of the school or better still connect to our live stream. I imagine that for some working parents this will be an absolute first, to be able to watch their child/children enjoying this fun day!

Huge thanks to Adam and Christie, for the enormous amount of effort and planning that has gone into ensuring that we can live stream something as challenging as our Sports Day.

I have full confidence that our community will respect what is essentially SA Health  advice and stay off site. Any parents in attendance will be asked to leave.

Ian
