Music at Brighton Primary 2019

I’m Amanda Cheah and this is my second year as the Music teacher at Brighton Primary School. I teach most of the classes from Foundation to year 7 along with the Senior Festival of Music Choir (6/7), a brand new Junior Choir(3/4/5), Ukulele Club 3/4/5/6/7) and Junior Primary Singing (F-2).

We have much to look forward to this year.

This term Jon Madin will visit us in week 9 (27-29 of March). He will be running workshops and facilitating performances on the same day (2:20pm) with all students in years 3-7. Please attend the performance your child is in, they are spectacular! This is will cost $10 per student. F-2 will be watching their peers perform for no cost.

In term, 2 week 6 we will be visited by the Music is Fun band and they will be performing to Foundation up to year 3/4 classes. This will cost between $8-$9 per student.

PSMF (Primary Schools Music Festival Choir) for years 6/7s will take place on Thursday afternoons after lunch. It is a wonderful program and provides the opportunity for your child to perform in a choir of over 500 students on the stage at newly refurbished Festival Centre in September. Our first excursion will be to Paringa Park on Wednesday 27th of February for a cluster rehearsal. Choir books and CDs with tracks for learning parts are to be purchased for $16.

I hope to participate in Music Count Us In again in Term 4. You can view last years performance by clicking the link below. https://blog.brightonps.sa.edu.au/2018/12/13/music-count-us-in-2018-video/

Feel free to pay the music room a visit between 5:30 and 6:00 on acquaintance night Tuesday. I would love to see you.

I’m looking forward to this jam packed year with all of you!
