Weekly Wrap Up- Bringing the new values to life!

Dear Families,

Our learning is off to a positive start at Brighton! We are excited to share with you how we are bringing our new school values to life. Our values of Respect, Inclusivity, Empathy and Excellence serve as guiding principles for all we do at Brighton.  During the first two weeks we have implemented various activities and initiatives to bring the values to life including:

  • student led Learning Hub Assemblies – this week 6.3 showed how they have been learning about excellence through a whole class movement to music activity. The Student Executives modelled and spoke about the importance of Respect.
  • Class Buddy systems are up and running to support children to foster inclusivity, empathy and respect
  • Developing a whole school Values in Action Matrix which describes what we expect to see everyone at Brighton doing. Educators will be sharing the Values in Action Matrix at the Parent Information Session on Tuesday afternoon.
  • Explicit teaching unpacking what each of values feels like, sounds like and looks like

We look forward to sharing more with families as we continue to bring the values to life and cultivate a values driven learning environment.

We are proud to share that Brighton has been selected as a 2024 SASTA Science Active School. This  recognises our high engagement in Science Education within the classroom and beyond the school gates. At Brighton, we are fortunate to have dedicated Educators who promote the excitement of Science and work alongside Industry Partners to provide students with opportunities to solve real life problems that involve Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics.

I look forward to seeing you at Brighton over the coming weeks at our upcoming school events. Keep your eye on the BLOG and your email inbox for information about upcoming events.

Enjoy the weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
