Last Sunday, the Brighton Pedal Prix team returned to competition for the first time in 2023 at Victoria Park. A team of 28 students took to the race track, competing in the 6-hour event. Our team made up of experienced riders and first time riders showed professionalism, athleticism and enthusiasm all day.
Our three bikes – Thunder, Bolt & Lightning – finished 2nd, 5th & 30th respectively. Whilst Thunder missed the 1st place by 1 lap, our results were impressive. Congratulations to all our riders and support staff.
Pedal Prix is much more than race day. A lot of planning and training happens in the months leading up to the event. I would like to thank Marek, our Pedal Prix coordinator and coach. The Tuesday morning training sessions clearly have been effective as our riders were fit and ready. Thank you to Peter, Mo, Melissa and Matt for their support at training sessions and on race day. Finally, thank you to all the parents who volunteered and supported in the pit lane and around the track.
A shout out to the Brighton Lions Club for supporting our Pedal Prix team. Their kind donation will ensure our bikes are keep in top condition.
We look forward to our next race which will be held at the The Bend, Tailem Bend on the 5th August.
