Weekly Wrap Up- Twisting Traditional Fairytales

Dear Families,

Did you like reading Fairytales as a child? This term some of the children in LA4 have been listening to, reading and viewing different versions of traditional fairytales to build their literal and inferential comprehension skills. Children have explored how a traditional tale can be transformed to present alternative perspectives about familiar characters and events. Students have been thinking critically and creatively to recognise stereotypes in texts. Through this unit of work, children are learning about the text structures and language features in traditional narratives.

You may have heard in the media that the SA Government are investing $100 million for infrastructure upgrades in public schools. We are getting an upgrade! Brighton has been allocated funding to upgrade the roof, gutters and downpipes of the school hall.

I’m sure you will agree that our new good neighbour fence along the southern boundary  and the front fence on Brighton Road looks fantastic. With the support of our fabulous grounds  committee we are improving the look and feel of our school grounds.

Enjoy the long weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
