Weekly Wrap Up- Brighton Garden Party

Dear Families,

It’s been another busy week at Brighton! This morning we held a Garden Party to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and to thank the Federal Government for the $17 000 grant to plant and irrigate trees in our new playspace.  The children and staff  looked very royal in their hats, crowns and tiaras! Thanks to Mandy for making over 700  cute teacup biscuits, they were yummy! Over the past 15 months the hardworking Grounds committee have been busy working behind the scenes to create the green playspace for present and future students to enjoy. It’s not finished yet, we are patiently waiting for the play equipment to be installed. A big shout to Michael Bennett for leading this project and to all the other committee members who kindly volunteer their time.

Our produce garden has been given a new lease of life thanks to Sarah Notridge and the team of volunteers who got their hands dirty at the working bee last Saturday.  We look forward to seeing the garden flourish.

We are a sporty school! Our students have been on the lacrosse field, the footy oval  and in the pool this week. Congratulations to all students who participated in the Lacrosse tournament, the SAPASSA swimming carnival and the Crows Cup. Thank you to Marek and Jeff for providing a wide range of sporting opportunities.

Reminder that three way interviews start next week. This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time talking with your child and their teacher, about your child’s learning. There is still time to book an appointment, see previous Blog posts for further information.

Enjoy the weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
