Unfortunately, all MSBL Mini games scheduled at Marion, Mitchell Park and Springbank this afternoon will be cancelled because the expected temperature is 38 degrees. The relevant excerpt in the BSA Hot Weather Policy is copied below.
Although Marion and Mitchell Park are airconditioned, the airconditioning will not cope with the extreme heat expected over the next three days. Instead, it is in the best interest of players, coaches and referees (who generally referee 3-4 games straight without a break) to cancel and ensure their safety and well-being.
The policy can be found here – 22nd March 2007 (basketballsa.com.au)
Also, due to the build-up of heat in the stadiums throughout the week, Friday’s MSBL Mini games will be cancelled too.
Fingers crossed, all games will go ahead next week!
