Year 6 Students recognised in Oliphant Science Awards

The South Australian Science Teachers Association (SASTA) held the annual presentations of the Oliphant Science Awards on Friday 21st October at Brighton Performing Arts Centre.

Penny A. from 6.2, Chloe S. from 6.3 and Isla C. from 6.4 were invited to attend to see what prize they had won for their entries into the competition, which is the largest science competition in the state with over 200 schools participating.

The category Isla entered was Photograpy and her entry was awarded 1st place. Penny and Chloe entered a group project into the Games category and achieved equal 2nd place. A wonderful achievement.

Archer F. from 6.4 was also recognised for his poster entry with a Highly Commended certificate.

Congratulations to everyone who entered this year’s competition. It is wonderful to see Brighton students being recognised at the state level amongst government and non-government schools.

Certificates for all entrants will be handed out in an assembly soon. I look forward to seeing many more successes in future years of the competition.
