Colour in the Art Room

This Term during Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 lessons the children have been exploring with colour and texture.

Primary, secondary, cool, warm and complimentary are some of the new vocabulary that we have  been using specifically relating to colour.  We discussed how certain colours can make us feel a certain way-emotions. The children have created paintings using non traditional methods such as rope, corks and straws and also traditional methods of brushes and rollers.

The children created texture boards, texture colour wheels and feely boards using just paper. The discussions included how they feel and look and used vocabulary like smooth, lumpy, rough, hard and soft.
