Welcome to our first weekly wrap up!
It’s hard to believe we are at the end of week 2 already! Things have started differently this school year; but one thing that hasn’t is the resilience of our students and willingness to learn. Both at home and at school students have been excited to connect with each other and engage in their learning. As a community we have made the most of the hybrid start and I thank everyone for their support.
We are excited to welcome our year 2-6 students back on site from Monday 14th February. We value working with you however at this stage DfE have asked sites to limit people on site. From Monday, parents are welcome on site to drop off/collect their child/ren. Please wear a mask, QR and socially distance. Parents are not able to enter school buildings yet, please contact teachers via email, Seesaw or the front office.
To ensure that our students and staff are as safe as possible at school, we will be implementing the following measures as advised by the Department for Education and SA Health:
- Please keep your child home if they are unwell, even mildly
- All adults are to wear masks when indoors (except if it’s impeding our staff’s ability to communicate while teaching)
- Masks are strongly recommended for children in years 3 to 6 when indoors. All year 3-6 classrooms have a supply of child friendly masks that students can access if they wish.
- Natural ventilation will be maximised by leaving doors/windows open, continued use of air conditioning (set to fresh air intake where available) and fans where possible
- Outdoor learning where appropriate
- Physical distancing where possible
- An extra daily site clean (funded by the department)
Some of the usual beginning of year events such as Acquaintance Night have been parked. Next week you will receive a term overview from your child’s class teacher. Information about Health/PE, AUSLAN, Music and Art will be shared via the Blog.
What’s on next week (week 3):
Parents and Friends Meeting: Wednesday 16th February @ 7:00pm in the staffroom. All Welcome. Please wear a mask.
Have a great weekend.
Regards, Rebecca
