Dear Families,
Despite the start of the year looking different, with some students learning at school and others learning at home, the term has started smoothly. Our Foundation and year one students have enjoyed exploring all the learning spaces without having to navigate the older children.
The new school year brings changes to our staff team. Over the next few days we will be introducing our teams, so you can put a face to a name. There have been changes to the leadership team with three new members. We are very fortunate to have Michelle Smith and Kerry Heil join the team. Michelle is an experienced leader and brings a wealth of expertise in the area of Literacy. One of Michelle’s key roles this year to lead our improvement focus in Reading. Kerry joins Brighton as the Wellbeing/Intervention Leader. She is an experienced school leader with expertise in leading wellbeing initiatives and special needs.
The leadership team’s early focus has been on building working relationships and connections with the school community and ensuring a smooth return to school. With the hybrid model this has been challenging at times however we appreciate your patience and support. Once the COVID challenges settle, we look forward to continuing the school improvement journey with a focus on Reading and Numeracy.
We look forward to connecting with you all over the coming weeks as we work together to support our students, to be the best they can be.
Warm Regards,
Rebecca
