Writer’s Week/Book Week Assembly

Writer’s Week/Book Week is fast approaching!  This is a celebration of our writing at Brighton Primary School and the event is in its 8th year.  Writing remains a strong focus at BPS and is part of our Site Improvement Plan.

As a result of the recent lockdown, Leadership have decided to give students extra time, to ensure they are submitting high quality writing.  Therefore, our Writer’s Week/Book Week Assembly will be held in Week 7 (rather than Week 6 during Book Week).  The date and time is 2.15pm on Wednesday, 1st September.  Writer’s Week awards will be presented and the Book Week Parade will follow.  Children will then be dismissed at 3.10pm.

Please chat to your child about a book character they may like to dress up as.  The theme this year is “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”.  It is not intended that families spend money on their dress-ups, rather it is creativity with what you have at home or can be borrowed.

At this stage, we are unsure of how the COVID-19 restrictions will impact family attendance at our assembly.  If current restrictions remain in place at this time, Adam will film the assembly which will be live-streamed to families.

Kind regards,

Vanessa
