Hi Volunteers!
The lockdown this week provides me with a great opportunity to check in with you, and to alert you to new courses that need to be completed to ensure your Volunteer credentials are up to date.
Along with your “Not prohibited” Working with Children Check, application and agreement forms, the Department for Education requires the following 3 free online training modules to be successfully completed:
- Volunteers: RRHAN-EC Fundamentals – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care training . (Allow 80 minutes)
- Volunteer General Induction (Allow 20 – 30 minutes)
- White Ribbon training – Understanding men’s violence against women (Allow 20 minutes)
I will draw your attention to the Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect module. This is an updated version that was launched this month. We have received notification from the Department for Education that anyone who completed their Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RAN) course in 2017 or prior, your certificate has expired. This means you are required to complete the updated Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care training (RRHAN-EC Fundamentals) to enable you to continue to volunteer with our school.
Volunteers who completed the Responding to Abuse (RAN) course in 2018-2020, your credentials will be valid until 31/12/2021. If you are planning to continue to volunteer in 2022 (and we hope you are!) you are required to complete the new course (RRHAN-EC Fundamentals) and ensure the school receives your new certification. If you have obtained your RAN certification this year, your expiry is 31/12/2024.
To access these three training modules, log on to plink here.
- Click on – Home
- Select – Non-Department sign up
- Create a – plink account and then – log in to complete the above on line training.
If you are not 100% sure of what you have or have not completed, logging on to plink will identify this. If you have not completed any training module, the course will advise “Always Available”. You click on the course box to register, and then open the course.
In addition to this, we will communicate when we are able to offer an on site induction as part of our Volunteer process.
For those who have not yet registered as a volunteer with us, and you would like to, please click here for all details. Click here for the application. Click here for the agreement.
If you have any questions, or you would like to forward completed certificates please email dl.0637.volunteers@schools.sa.edu.au
Kind regards,
Jan-Marie
Hi Jan Marie, I just tried to forward my RAN and cut and pasted the email provided and it said it was undeliverable.
Thanks for getting on to this so quickly Justine.
My apologies, the new address isn’t quite working for us, is it? We’re looking into fixing that. In the meantime, please use the following email address: dl.0637.volunteers@schools.sa.edu.au
