As stated in an earlier post, Brighton Primary School held a practice evacuation today, immediately after lunch time today. We had carefully planned a range of protocols, ‘pick up’ points and discovered a variety of issues that now need clarification-of course that is the purpose behind having a ‘mock’ evacuation. I will collate these, share solutions with staff and then publish these on our Blog so that parents are clearly aware of just how we will proceed with a whole school evacuation. I feel very confident that we have a clear and practical plan in place.
In general terms I was very impressed with the behaviour of our students, particularly our younger students, as they undertook the practice in a very calm and sensible manner. This is just like we want to happen, in the unlikely event that an evacuation will be necessary.
