Covid-19 Early childhood education and Care relief package

7/4/2020

Dear Families,

As you may be aware the government released a statement last week declaring that all child care including OSHC will now be offered free of charge, as part of an Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package. This Package will temporarily replace the already existing Child Care Subsidy and is set to commence on the 6th of April, and at this stage, until the end of the financial year.

As part of the new relief package, our OSHC service will now directly receive 50 percent of the service fee revenue or 50 percent of the existing hourly rate cap, whichever is lower, based on the fortnight prior to March the 2nd 2020.

The parent portion of the fee normally required, will, as of Monday the 6th April, be waived resulting in no charge for care for parents.

All fees owed prior to Monday the 6th of April, including the week of Monday the 30th to Sunday the 5th however will still require payment. The timeline of payment can be decided by account holders, though we request these fees be settled as soon as possible and prior to the commencement of regular care in July. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact me to discuss options for your account.

Relief care will now be available  according to the following priorities:
1. Children of parent(s) who are considered essential workers
2. Vulnerable and disadvantaged children
3. Any previously enrolled child/ren

Please note:
• Accounts are still required to be sent out by the service at this time. If your statement shows a balance of fees accrued after Monday the 6th April, please contact the centre.

Please contact me on 8377 2655 or Ben.Hepper79@schools.sa.edu.au if you have any questions regarding this information.

Kind Regards,

Ben Hepper
