Basketball – Delay in start date to next week (10-14 Feb)

Hi Everyone
I emailed the following to everyone registered for basketball on Saturday.  I have learned over the past week, that my emails aren’t reaching all the recipients I address them to.  I will speak with Adam this morning regarding this error.  If you have not received the following information via email, please contact me on JanMarie.Cresp387@schools.sa.edu.au with your name & your child’s name, or text me on 0402 480 154 (please add your email address to the text).  Many thanks.
Basketball SA have advised their team registrations have far exceeded their expectations.  They were anticipating about 100 teams in the competition and I think they have around 160 teams!
As you can imagine the organising of the fixture for all the teams is quite a task.
Basketball SA have also advised they haven’t the court space at both stadiums (Marion and Pasadena) to conduct the number of games required each afternoon.  They have asked us all if we would be OK having 1-2 games a term played at the Morphett Vale Stadium rather than having double byes (no games).  I said yes to this.
Lastly, Brighton Primary have the highest team tally in the competition.  We love it!  We have grown from 2 teams in term 1 of 2018 to 17 teams this summer. Quite a booming sport! I have ordered uniforms for 4 teams as understandably, we didn’t have enough.  I have been advised they will arrive in approximately 2 weeks, so with this delay, there is a small chance they may arrive before the first game.  If not, as a team decide whether to wear the grey school top, or the yellow extra curricular top, and Basketball SA will loan us numbered bibs.  Your coach or team manager will let you know if your team has singlets allocated or if you are awaiting brand new ones.
Your coaches and team managers are busy completing and submitting their Volunteer Requirements.  Once this has been done, I will send your child’s team details to them – so they in turn, can contact you and communicate details such as training and general information that you might be waiting for.  On this email from them, you will receive their email and mobile number’s to contact them directly.
Your team manager will then contact you via text each week and advise game details (time and location), Captain, Scorer.
Thanks and have a great week
Jan-Marie
