After School Sports – Update

After School Sports 

 

Thank you for the 325 individual registrations we have received across our 4 summer sports. My fellow coordinators and myself are in the process of organising approximately 36 teams supported by your good selves as coaches and team managers.  Before I move on, I wish to pass on a HUGE thanks to the sports coordinators, and to those who volunteered to coach or team manage.  Our time is incredibly precious,  I appreciate these extraordinary people volunteer their time, and energy, with this commitment.  Thank you.

This week you will receive, or have received, communications from myself (cricket or volleyball), Adrienne, Kathryn (Basketball), Judy (Tee Ball) or Danielle (Volleyball) with regards to your child’s placements in their chosen sport’s teams.  Please ensure you check your emails as we are often calling for coaches and team managers and need a fast turnaround of commitment.  Coaches and Team Managers need to be assigned to a team prior to our school being able to register them with the sporting associations.  Unfortunately, failure to assign a coach or team manager will result in that team being withdrawn.

I have been made aware that my email address is often finding it’s way into people’s junk/spam folders.  Please check this regularly.

Here’s a quick update:

Basketball – Year 4-7 Teams have been registered and all players contact’s emailed.  Players and Coaches are to register with Basketball SA via the link sent from the SportsTG email address.

Basketball – Foundation to Year 3 are finalising coaches and team managers, needing a coach for a Yr 2/3 boys team.  These are all to be confirmed by midday today, Wednesday (5/2) for us to register the team’s.  Once I have registered the team with Basketball SA, you will receive an email from SportsTG to register your child with Basketball SA via a link.  This is for Insurance, scoring and their registration purposes.  PLAYERS WANTED: To fill the Foundation and Year 1 team’s which play on a Friday between 3.45 and 6.30pm.

Cricket – Requests for coaches and team managers will be sent today, teams need to be finalised and registered by Friday 7 Feb.

Tee Ball – Teams have been created, we are waiting on volunteers for 2 red division team coaches.  Teams will be registered by Friday morning 7 Feb.

Volleyball – Teams are in the process of being created.  Danielle is calling for Team Managers, and training support via text or email.  These teams need to be submitted to Volleyball SA by Thursday 6 Feb. Once team’s are registered with VSA, all players will need to register with Spikezone to cover their insurance (this $20 fee is included in your invoice), Danielle will email the link. PLAYERS WANTED:  Year 4/5 Beach, and Year 6 Indoor.

Once teams have been confirmed and communicated + volunteer requirements have been met, we can begin to organise training sessions.  Please be prepared, training may not occur before the first game due to Volunteer Requirements needing to be fulfilled.  It’s all very hectic, exciting, (and a little crazy) at the start!

Winter Sports (Basketball, Soccer, Aussie Rules, Netball and Volleyball) registrations will be distributed by week 7 this term.

Please wait to pay after we have invoiced you, which will likely be next week.  All Sports fees are due to be paid in full by the invoice due date (unless a payment agreement plan has been signed with Finance).  Failure to pay or commit to pay will result in the player being withdrawn from the team.
