Brighton Primary School community
I recently received the information below from Cheryl Teo, Project Coordinator, Cook Building , regarding the redevelopment of the Brighton Oval site. With this redevelopment about to take place, parking near our school site will become a significant issue. I ask that ALL parents abide by all road rules and only park or drop your children off at appropriate locations. PLEASE DO NOT enter the staff carpark to drop your children off as this then becomes a significant safety issue. Parents will be spoken to if this occurs. There is no doubt that ‘patience will become a virtue’ during this time.
Good afternoon Mr Filer,
As you would be aware, the redevelopment of Brighton Oval is now well underway. The second phase of the building construction to take place is the demolition of the grandstand and lacrosse buildings to make way for the construction of new buildings in their place.
We have now received advice from the builders in regards to the restricted access that will be in place for the off-street carparks that are heavily used by parents of your school. Can you please communicate with them the attached site plans and dates below.
Please be aware that the access road will be closed off at Lacrosse Club entry from Highet Ave with a secure compound and construction site in place from 27 September to mid 2020. There will be no through traffic from Stopford Ave to Highet Ave for the duration of the construction phase.
From 14 October onwards until mid-2020 there will be a construction zone in place around the grandstand location and some area to the south. Please see attached site plan showing restricted access and exclusion zones.
Traffic management plans will be in place to manage the safe movement of heavy vehicles into and out of the building site.
As the construction program evolves, we will keep you updated so you can communicate with your school community. Holdfast Bay contact is Matthew Rechner.
