New Principal 2022

With my tenure coming to an end at the conclusion of this year, I have decided to retire after 46 years in public education. My last day at Brighton Primary School will be September the 24th -the last day of term 3. I will take long service leave during term 4. The process to appoint the new Principal has begun, with applications closing on June the 10th. The Brighton Primary parent community will be represented by Simon Froude, as Chair of your Governing Council and Penny Karatzovalis will be the AEU/staff representative. The panel will be chaired by Education Director, Chris Sheldon and Grant Small, Principal of Grange Primary, will be the Principal representative on the panel. We are currently canvassing parents, staff and students to gain their opinions as to what qualities, skills and abilities they are looking for in the newly appointed Principal. This information will be shared with the panel.

With Brighton Primary School presenting as a very desirable and dynamic location, with a very  exciting future, I expect that the field of probable candidates will be very strong.  Chris expects the appointment process to be concluded before the end of this term and once finalised, the community will be informed.

I will farewell this wonderful community later in term 3.

Ian
