Pupil Free Days School Closure Day 2021

As parents are probably aware, schools in SA hold 4 Pupil Free Days(PFDs) each year and one School Closure day. We  had two PFDs in term 1 -one in week zero and one in week 4. We will hold two more this year. The dates are Friday 11th of June (fronts the June long weekend)- with the focus on the implementation of the new SA curriculum framework. The second day is Friday 5th of November-with the focus on finalising 2022 classes, reviewing our 2021 Site Plan and developing our new 3 year Site Plan.

As we did in 2020 we will hold our School Closure day on the day immediately following our Sports Day. Sports Day this year will be held on Thursday the 2nd of September with our School Closure Day held on Friday the 3rd September

Put simply, students do not attend school on these three days:

FRIDAY THE 11TH OF JUNE

FRIDAY THE 3RD OF SEPTEMBER

FRIDAY THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER

My apologies regarding only just announcing June the 10th-this was connected to a Partnership decision as leaders across sites, Deputies, will be collaborating with their presentations.

As always OSHC will be available on these dates.

  1. Hi Ian,

Will this information be updated on the calendar?

And is the school closure day on Friday 3rd September for the Royal Adelaide Show, as it has been in previous years?… because it starts on Saturday 4th September this year.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

    1. Ryan-it is not associated with Show Week as we are having JP swimming/Year 4 camp during that week. We have no control over either, as they are determined by the Marion pool and the camp site. The School Closure immediately follows our Sports Day-just as we did last year. It will be updated on our Calendar. The other issue associated with the Show, is that parents chose the day they attend based on their work availability-a Closure Day doesn’t guarantee attendance on that day. Attendance during Show Week is varied.
      Ian
