Health Education Program- Kid Biz and FYI Education

Dear Families,

At Brighton Primary we value and support students to develop knowledge, understanding and skills to create opportunities and take action to enhance their own and others’ health, wellbeing and safety.

Throughout the teaching of our Health and Physical Education Curriculum and the Child Protection Curriculum (Keeping Safe), students develop skills to manage their emotions, understand the physical and social changes that are occurring for them and examine how the nature of their relationships changes over time. The content taught through these curriculums provides opportunities for students to contribute to building a positive environment that supports healthy, safe and active choices for everyone. Students also explore a range of factors and behaviours that can influence health, safety and wellbeing.

In conjunction with, and to support both curriculums, we engage professionals to help deliver the content through comprehensive, tailored and educational workshops. The two companies we engage are FYI Education https://www.fyieducation.com.au/ and Kid Biz – Personal and Social Development Education, Middle Years http://www.kidzbiz.edu.au/. Please check out the websites for further information about both companies. FYI Education will be delivered to all year levels across the school and the teachers will choose a topic that complements their program. Kid Biz will be delivered to Yrs 4-7 with the focus on Growth and Development.

Please see the attached table for the dates and cost involved. As these workshops support curriculum, the school has subsidised cost for everyone.  Included are 2 parent workshops that come highly recommended.

Please see attached letter re our up coming  Health Education Program

Thanks

Renee
