Weekly wrap up – Brighton out and about

Dear Families,

Over the past week our students have been out and about gaining rich learning experiences and opportunities beyond the school gate.  Yesterday, our Junior Choir and Signing Choir proudly participated in the Holdfast Minifest. The Minifest is an annual event featuring Junior Choirs from across our Holdfast Partnership, showcasing the talent of young singers. Our Signing Choir entertained the audience with their performances of “When I Grow Up” and the Australian National Anthem. Our soloists, Annabelle, Addison, and Paige, showed our school value of excellence. Congratulations to all the participants of the 2024 Holdfast Minifest! Donna and I loved being part of the event and watching our wonderful choirs. Thank you to Amanda, Kylee, and Rosanna for training the choirs.

It was very exciting seeing our three Pedal Prix vehicles back on the track at The Bend last Saturday. Some of our Year 5 and 6 students and their families enjoyed this event that teaches resilience, persistence and team work. There was success with one of the bikes achieving 9th in the field. A special thank you to the teachers who make this all possible. AJ, Andy, Marek and Phoebe give up a lot of their personal time to ensure that this experience is offered to BPS students. It is not only the time on race days but also practice laps, Friday training club as well as the organisation that surrounds such a commitment.

A shout out to Aaron Lindsay, who proudly represented Brighton at the School Sport Australia Games in the Gold Coast last week. The boys basketball team he was managing  won a bronze medal.

Enjoy the weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
