Weekly Wrap Up- Dreaming with eyes open

Dear Families,

After two years of COVID restrictions, our community finally celebrated Book Week and Writer’s Week in person. Everyone joined in the fun, dressing up as their favourite book character or connected with the theme of Book Week ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’. Over the last two weeks, we have celebrated book and writers week in many ways. We welcomed a children’s book illustrator to come and share her art work and her inspirations. Scott Hewitt, author and animator shared his books and talked about his work. Congratulations to everyone for coming up with a great idea for their  Writer’s Week book, for planning and drafting those ideas, for refining and editing those words, for rewriting and rewriting again! A big shout out to the students who were Writer’s Week award winners. A reminder families are welcome to visit the library to read all the Writer’s Week shortlisted books. Thank you to Michelle, Mandy and the Literacy Steering committee for organising a successful Book Week/Writer’s Week.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated and passionate group of parents on the P&F committee who volunteer their time to organise a wide range of events for our community including cooking up today’s  Father’s Day Breakfast.  Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, Grandpas and special people. We hope you enjoy quality family time on Sunday.

Next week our year 6 learning community are off to Willow Creek Camp for a week of outdoor adventures.

Enjoy the weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
