Attention families of year 5 & 6 students.
The Pedal Prix season is rapidly approaching, and we would like to invite all year 5 and 6 students to consider joining our championship winning Pedal Prix team. Training will begin this Friday morning at 8am on The Courts beside the school gym. Students will be shown the trikes, and begin fitness training. This will also be an opportunity for parents and caregivers to see the trikes, meet the PP team, and ask any questions.
We will also be holding our first ‘Come and Try’ session at Victoria Park on Saturday 11th May from 8am – 12pm. This will be the first chance for new students to have a 10 minute in trike session, riding laps of Victoria Park. It will be another great opportunity to chat with families, and most importantly, recruit some help for the upcoming season.
The school Pedal Prix program relies on support from families and the community, and we are looking for anyone who may like to help out with Marshaling at events, pit crew, catering, bike mechanics, and people who are genuinely ‘handy’ with mechanical repairs.
Our first race is currently scheduled for Friday June 14th at Victoria Park in Adelaide, followed by an 8hr race at Tailem Bend on Saturday August 3.
This is a fabulous experience for the students involved to work as a team on strategy, fitness, mechanics and competition.
