Year 4 Students Roar with Success in STEM Collaboration with Adelaide Zoo

We are thrilled to share the incredible journey that some of our Year 4 students embarked on this year, engaging in a captivating STEM project with our esteemed industry partner, the Adelaide Zoo. Over the course of two terms, our students not only enjoyed an educational excursion to the zoo but also actively participated in enhancing the lives of the tiger cubs.

During the zoo visit, students observed the tigers, sparking inspiration for a unique project back at school. Utilising the BPS STEM design process, our talented Year 4s collaborated to create innovative enrichment toys for the tiger cubs. Employing tools like TinkerCad and a variety of materials, each group brought their creative ideas to life.

As a culmination of their efforts, some groups even crafted engaging PowerPoints to showcase their projects. Today, we had the privilege of presenting these enrichment toys and project highlights to Jade from the Adelaide Zoo. Her response? Pure amazement! The Year 4 students’ dedication, creativity, and commitment to the STEM process left a lasting impression, showcasing the incredible potential within our young minds.

Kudos to our Year 4 students for their outstanding work – your enthusiasm and ingenuity truly make us proud!
