This term, the students in 2.9 engaged with the True Colours program delivered by the Sammy D Foundation. The Sammy D Foundation aim to end violence through connecting and empowering young people like us.
Over the term, we learnt about kindness, friendships, team building, diversity, power, gratitude, conflict, bullying, and self-regulation and emotions. We know these topics and ideas are important for us as we progress through schooling and also in our future: we want to live our best life, feeling safe in our community.
Today we shared our projects with 7 guests from the Sammy D Foundation in the hope that they use our ideas in their future programs and mentoring sessions. All students did an excellent job, the guests were very impressed with their organisation, speeches and projects.
Overall, this program has helped us to understand, listen and be a good friend and person. We will take the lessons learned with us through our schooling and help others to be the best version of themselves too.
