Dear Families,
It’s been another week filled with exciting events and learning at Brighton. I am thrilled to share some of the highlights from the past 7 days.
Our talented Festival of Music Choir performed at the Festival Theatre last Friday night. Their harmonious voices filled the theatre and their smiles were infectious. We are very proud of everyone who participated. A big shout out to our amazing music teacher Amanda, who trained the choir.
We are elated to announce that our Pedal Prix team has once again claimed the title of National Pedal Prix Champions for the second consecutive year. This achievement is a testament to the dedication, persistence and teamwork of the students involved. Pedal Prix and the 24 hour race is a huge event and wouldn’t be possible without the support of staff and families. I would like to express my gratitude to Marek, Peter, Matt, AJ, Adam, Phoebe, Melissa and Mo for their dedication, leadership and support of the Pedal Prix program. A shout out to all the parents who supported the team on race day. Congratulations to our champions!
This week, we have been celebrating National Week of Deaf People. At Brighton we foster an inclusive environment where Deaf culture and Auslan is celebrated. A highlight of the week was the CDE National Week of Deaf People Assembly and the Voices Off Breakfast. Happy National Week of Deaf People!
The Science Expo was a great success! Thank you to everyone for being part of this wonderful event, there was a positive vibe around the school. A shout out to Karen for organising the event and to all our staff for sharing the amazing learning that is happening in classrooms!
Congratulations to the Year 6s who ran their fabulous Enterprise Stalls over the past few days. Their stalls were engaging, exciting and reflected the culmination of a fantastic Economics unit of learning. Thank you to everyone in the school community who supported this great initiative.
If you are looking for something to do on Sunday, please come along to the Working Bee in the Produce Garden at 2:00pm on Sunday.
Warm Regards,
Rebecca
