Dear Families,
Our school community enjoys many and varied events and activities during the school year. This week we have had two wonderful events: Harmony Day and the Year 4 Shoeboxes of Love fundraising stalls.
Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day. Celebrating Harmony Day is a highlight of the school calendar and the children proudly wore their national dress or dressed in orange. Unfortunately the whole school picnic lunch was ‘rained out’. However we did all come together for a whole school photo.
A big shout to the year 4 community for organising a very successful event, raising money for the charity, Shoeboxes of Love. Everyone enjoyed the bake stall and sausage sizzle and we raised $2600 for people in the need. The event had a positive vibe. Well done to the year 4 community!
A reminder that next Friday we are having a whole school garden party to acknowledge Queen Elizabeths’s Platinum Jubilee and to thank the Federal Government for the $17 000 grant to plant and irrigate trees in our new playspace. Children are encouraged to wear a hat, tiara or crown.
Enjoy the weekend.
Warm Regards, Rebecca
