Weekly Wrap Up- National Champions

Dear Families,

Our Pedal Prix team were simply outstanding at the final race of the season held last  Saturday  at ‘The Bend’, Tailem Bend, finishing 1st, 4th and 5th in their category and National Champions! This is our best result to date. Reaching speeds of over 50kph, Team Thunder finished one lap ahead of Crafers Primary to take the National Championship. The students showed great determination, teamwork and respect towards their competitors. Jan and I were amazed at the speed of our pit changes, the Pit Crew were slick!  Congratulations to Lucas and all students on this fabulous achievement.  Thanks to all our amazing parent helpers who supported the team throughout the season. A big shout out to Lucas for his dedication and passion for the Pedal Prix program. Under his leadership, the program has gone from good to great and he has inspired many students to fulfil their potential.

Our school wide STEM program continues to provide all students with the opportunity to work with an industry partner to solve a real life problem. This week our youngest learners headed to Morialta playground to gather information and  inspiration for a new Nature Play Space at Glenthorne National Park that they are designing with Nature Play SA and Department of Environment and Water.

We love our sport at Brighton and this week the boys and girls basketball team were on the courts competing in the first round of the statewide schools basketball competition. Congratulations to the girls team for finishing 5th and to the boys teams for being undefeated. The boys have progressed to the final round in term 4, well done boys! Big thank you to Aaron and Diane for supporting the students.

Enjoy the weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
