Dear Families,
Welcome to Term 3! It is always heart warming when children return to school, smiling and refreshed after the holidays. A special welcome to the three families who have joined our community. We also welcome two new teachers: Alissia King (4.7) and James Olsen (6.2). On Wednesday our littlest learners celebrated their 100th day at school by making fairy bread and having a teddy bears picnic. We are very proud of the progress they have made with their learning in such a short time.
There is much to look forward to this term, starting next Wednesday with the Science Expo. We encourage you to come along and see all the wonderful science and STEM learning that has been happening. There will also be lots of hands-on activities for children and adults.
Have you always wanted to star gaze? If yes, then you won’t want to miss the Evening with the Stars. A fun family event – bring your picnic rug and enjoy an evening of star gazing, hear from an astronomer and warm up with a sausage sizzle. See previous Blog posts for more information.
With COVID restrictions behind us, we are planning school events for our community to come together and to celebrate all the great learning happening at Brighton. Please add these dates to your diary:
Wednesday 3rd August 2:30-4:30pm: Science Expo and 6:30pm-8:30pm Evening with the Stars
Thursday 18th August: School Disco
Wednesday 31st August 9:15am: Bookweek/Writers Week Assembly and Morning Tea
Tuesday 27th September 5:00pm: Art Show and Year 6 Enterprise Stalls
Thursday 29th September 1:30pm: Colour Fun Run
Enjoy the weekend and I look forward to seeing you at the Science Expo next week.
Warm Regards, Rebecca
