Dear Families,
The term has ended as quickly as it started. It may be week 10 but it’s been an action packed week for our children: year 6s went to Monarto, we celebrated NAIDOC week, our junior choir and signing choir performed at the Holdfast MiniFest, students vs staff soccer game and Crazy Hair Day happened on the last day.
The end of term sometimes brings some changes to our staff team. I am sure you will join me in congratulating Alistair Fleming (6.2) on winning a permanent teaching position at All Saints Catholic Primary School at Seaford. Alistair has been a great team member of the year 6/7 community over the past 6 terms. During this time Alistair has built high quality relationships with our community and his energy and passion for teaching and learning will be dearly missed at Brighton. We wish him well for his future teaching career.
Courtney (4.7) is expecting her second child and will be on maternity leave for the next twelve months. We wish her and her family all the best as they look forward to welcoming their new special little person. We look forward to welcoming Alissia King (4.7) and James Olsen (6.2) to Brighton next term.
I would like take this opportunity to thank everyone in our school community for their support in what has been a challenging first semester, mostly due to the ongoing complexities of COVID. I would like to acknowledge our wonderful staff including our relieving teachers for their efforts over the past two terms. Despite all the challenges they have remained focussed on the children and their learning. With the easing of COVID restrictions this term, it has been wonderful to see families back on site and at school events. We look forward to building on this in the second half of the year.
Best wishes for the upcoming holidays. A bit of craziness to finish the term!
Warm Regards, Rebecca
