Last week, 4 classes travelled to their respective partnership sites to see the problem they have to solve first hand.
4.3 and 4.4 travelled to Amorim Cork and were treated to a tour of the factory floor as well as explored cork as a natural and processed product. They saw how corks are moved, washed, labelled and packaged. They were given ample opportunity to ask questions which they did with enthusiasm. We are extremely grateful to Tim, Vasco and the team at Amorim for their time and generosity.
4.5 and 4.6 had a different experience on a very wet day. They visited the Aberfoyle Park Pump Station and the construction site of the new Ferrous-Chloride dosing station. They were met by Olivia and Brayden from Fulton Hogan Utilities who showed them the problem of stakeholder access and explained the construction of the new facility. The students could clearly identify the need for the dosing station as a result of the odour from the pump station. We thank Brayden and Olivia for braving the cold and rain to show our students the area. They were generous with their time and shared valuable information with our students.
