Who are the Parents & Friends Committee?

Brighton Primary School Parents & Friends Committee (P&F) are a volunteer group. We provide a link between home, school, and community, by working to create opportunities for the community to connect and to provide support to the primary school.

We acknowledge the diversity of our parent community and offer an open and supportive environment where volunteers can build friendships, connect in the community, contribute to the school, and celebrate our achievements along the way.

We welcome and encourage all parents, carers, and grandparents to get involved in our activities through joining our committee, attending events, or supporting fundraising throughout the year. We are always keen for more people to join P&F throughout the year.

P&F meet officially every 2^nd and 7^th week of the term throughout the school year at 7PM and communicate regularly outside of these meetings.

 

Term1 Wrap Up

In Term 1 this year we organised the following events: –

o   Election Day Sausage Sizzle and Bake Stall, funds raised to Brighton Primary School.

o   Easter Raffle, funds raised to Brighton Primary School.

o   Casual Day with donations to Treasure Boxes Incorporate, for more information https://www.treasureboxes.org.au/

o   Mother’s Day Stall (beginning of Term 2).

P&F Focus for 2022

Over the last few years P&F have funded some projects at Brighton Primary, including: –

• Audio equipment for use at assemblies.
• Tables for breakfast club.
• New basketball/netball rings.
• Drinking fountain and water supply for the oval shelter shed.

A focus for 2022 is fundraising for a new play space West of Learning Area 4. We currently have a bid for a community grant to assist with start-up and project scoping from the SA Government.

Upcoming Events for 2022

• Entertainment Books (buy online and 20% of your membership goes to Brighton Primary School, www.entertainment.com.au)
• Quiz Night on Saturday 25/06, 6:30PM in the school hall (parents, carers, friends, and family invited, details will be available soon).
• Wine Fundraiser, Term 2, details will be available soon.
• School disco on Thursday 18/08, in the school hall, details will be available closer to the date.
• Colour Fun Run on Thursday 29/09, on the oval, details will be available closer to the date.
• Footy Colours Day on Friday 30/09, details will be available closer to the date.
• Bunnings BBQ in Term 4, date TBA.
