The Mathematicians in 1.3 have been learning about Location and Transformation. We read the book, “Bears in the Night”, and represented the story in a map using directional language. We needed to collaborate in our learning groups to make decisions on the best loose parts to create the map, and we needed to make sure that we put the directions in order. Then we created our own maps in a drawing – we could use the loose parts’ maps, or draw our own using the 12 directions in the story”.
