We will be holding a whole school Harmony Day celebration at Brighton Primary school on Wednesday 31th March, 2021 at 10am.
Students are invited to dress in traditional clothes from a country or community they have a connection to, or wear something orange to represent harmony.
Due to Covid complications only parents/caregivers of students who are involved in dancing hearts, school leadership representatives, or festival choir are invited to join us at the assembly. It will start at 10am and will be recorded for later viewing. Students will then share recess and kindness stones with their buddy class.
Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect, and belonging for all Australians regardless of cultural or linguist background. We acknowledge and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Nations’ people of Australia and that they are the traditional owners and custodians of the land and waterways throughout our country. Brighton Primary School is on Kaurna land. We pay our respects to the Kaurna people and to the Elders both past, present and emerging.
