Highet Avenue – Footpath and gutter replacement

Late last year I was contacted the City of Holdfast Bay to indicate that they would be upgrading Highet Avenue early in the new year-widening of the road with indent parking. This is indeed very exciting, as it will eliminate the congestion we face every morning and afternoon trying to navigate our way through a very ‘tight’ access, when heading either way along Highet Avenue. Outlined below is an update from the Council. I have been informed that the best way to access the parking areas of the Brighton Football/Rugby/Lacrosse clubs is off Stopford Avenue, rather than Highet Avenue. These carparks are for public use which is a great asset to our school! There will be some short term ‘pain’ but I feel the outcome will be outstanding!

Please be aware the City of Holdfast Bay and Nova Group Services are commencing Kerb and Gutter Replacement and footpath work on Highet Avenue from Wednesday 20th January 2021.  They anticipate this work will continue for approximately 6 weeks (subject to inclement weather). Please be mindful there may be parking restrictions during this time, and traffic may occasionally be impeded.  The intention is to keep traffic disturbance to a minimum.
