This week year 4, 5, 6 and 7 students all took part in individual presentations by Senior Constable Amber on Cyber Safety. The presentations were extremely valuable to the students. Students asked some fantastic questions of Amber who answered with extensive knowledge and experience.
Some of the common themes to come from the presentations and questions were around privacy of information, the risks of talking to someone online who you don’t know in real life and how easy it is for people to fake their identity online.
The Carly Ryan Foundation was also mentioned many times, as well as Carly’s story, in different levels of detail for each year level. We thought it was a good time to encourage you to have conversations about this with your family and to share information from the Carly Ryan Foundation. They have some great fact sheets giving information about a range of apps and some around setting your privacy in some apps.
