On Thursday 21st March 2019 we will be celebrating Harmony Day. We will hold a whole school assembly on the asphalt, in front of the shelter shed, at 9:10am. The central message of Harmony Day is ‘Everybody Belongs’. It is about community participation, inclusiveness, celebrating diversity, demonstrating respect and highlighting the notion of belonging. At Brighton Primary School we highly value these beliefs and our Harmony Day celebration/assembly is one way of promoting these. The assembly will be hosted by year 7 students and will feature singing, dancing and also individuals talking about the importance of Harmony Day. An interpreter will be present on the day.
Students are encouraged to wear either their cultural dress or something orange . Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day to show support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia. Any bright colour is also appropriate!
We recognise that although some classes have advertised Harmony Day through Seesaw, this is the first occasion that the exact time of our assembly has been advertised on our Blog. We encourage ALL members of our diverse community to join us for our celebration assembly on Thursday at 9.10am.
All Welcome
Rachel, Kylee, Amanda and Ian
Really late notice!
