Congratulations to Catharine Carlin who has been appointed as our CDE leader for this year. This has come about following the departure of Melissa Phillips, who is now teaching at Klemzig Primary School. Catharine brings a wealth of experience both as a leader and highly skilled teacher/ Teacher of the Deaf. Catharine has very quickly brought our CDE staff together as a very cohesive and collaborative team, whose primary focus is the wellbeing and learning of our 12 Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
We also welcome Rachael O’Reilly who will be teaching in Catharine’s class on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week while Catharine undertakes her CDE leadership role. I have further updated families in 2.8 regarding Rachel’s appointment.
I feel very confident that our CDE is in very ‘good hands’ and I look forward to a very productive year under Catharine’s leadership.
