The children in Year 3 and 4 this term during Visual Arts have had a focus on Pop Art and in particular Andy Warhol and his portraits. Using bright colours and recognizable imagery (related to the child’s interest)the children created artworks using water colours ,oil pastels, mixed media and foam. I also chose Warhol as an artist study as there is an exhibition of his works running at the Art Gallery until mid May which many of the children have already been to visit and shared with me their delight at seeing some of his works in person. If you get a chance it is worth a visit.
During Drama this term students learned about some of the elements of drama (role, character and relationships) through drama games, character building and freeze frames.
Here are some examples of our pop art influenced work.
Hi thanks for the lovely comments. Yes as soon as i have finalised my assessment on the pieces they will be sent home.

Hello Rachel,
Thank you so much for posting the artworks of the children. They are all so unique and beautiful!
Just wondered if the children are able to bring back the artworks they’ve done during class?
Thank you for your awesome work!:)
