Weekly Wrap Up-

Dear Families,

It’s NAPLAN time! Our year 3 and 5 learners are currently participating in the NAPLAN assessments. NAPLAN is just one assessment that is carried out across the year. We aim to to ensure NAPLAN is held  with the minimum of fuss and change possible. Parents can support their children with some encouraging words to build confidence during NAPLAN. This year NAPLAN has been moved to earlier in the year and schools are expecting to receive the assessment results by the end of term 2. We will keep you posted.

Have you ever wondered what happens on Student Free Days at Brighton? Our Educators are learners too! Student Free Days allow our staff to participate in professional learning aligned with our site improvement priorities of Reading and Numeracy.  Working together, our Educators further developed their knowledge of ways they can differentiate their teaching to stretch and challenge learners.

It has been a week of sports. Last Thursday 105 students participated in the Beach Volleyball Carnival at Glenelg.  Congratulations to all students involved. Our teams were amazing with lots of gold and silver medals won! This week our students have been back on the sports field participating in Football and Netball tournaments.

Congratulations to Kerry Heil on winning a short term acting role as Deputy Principal at Aberfoyle Hub PS until the end of term 2. I am delighted to announce that Diane Donaldson will be acting in the Wellbeing for Learning/Intervention role whilst Kerry is away. I’m sure you’ll join me in congratulating both Kerry and Diane.

Reminder that next Tuesday we will be celebrating Harmony Day with a shared lunch on the oval. Children are encouraged to wear orange or their national dress.

Enjoy the weekend.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
