Weekly Wrap Up

Dear Families,

True to Brighton, this week has been filled with great learning, positive community connections and student leadership. Our first Little Sprouts Playgroup session was a great success with 18 special little people and their parents/grandparents enjoying messy play, role play, stories, songs and Auslan. Our playgroup is a wonderful opportunity for families with young children to join the Brighton community, become familiar with the environment and to connect with other parents/carers living locally with children of the same age. It was lovely to meet lots of young ones, who one day may be a Foundation student at Brighton.

Wednesday was an exciting day for BPS! In the morning our Student Execs welcomed children from our local preschools to our ‘preschool honey comb hunt’. Our Student Execs showed great maturity as they supported the children to engage in many hands on learning experiences which had the preschoolers  buzzing with excitement.

The Science Expo in the afternoon was a real triumph with lots of wonderful Science and STEM learning on display and a  fabulous community vibe. From Zoology to Physics the children experienced all types of scientific investigations. We were fortunate that Martin Westwell , CEO of the Department of Education joined us at the Expo and he was very impressed by our articulate students and their depth of thinking about their learning. A big shout out to Christie for leading the day and to all the staff for supporting the event. The Science Expo was well attended by families and staff enjoyed the opportunity to connect with them.

Congratulations to our girls’ football team who came runners up to Westminster School at the Crows Cup today. Well done girls!

Our Pedal Prix team are back on the track tomorrow at The Bend, Tailem Bend for the last race of the season.

Warm Regards, Rebecca
