Weekly Wrap Up

Dear Families,

This week we celebrated Harmony Day  which is all about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day. Traditionally, orange signifies social connections and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Our community benefits from having people from a rich variety of cultural backgrounds. Students and staff celebrated the day by wearing something orange or by wearing cultural dress.   Teachers organised some wonderful learning experiences that enabled students to connect with each other, learn about inclusivity and different cultures. All classes visited the hall for a ‘gallery walk’ to see how other classes had celebrated Harmony Day.  A big thank you to all families for supporting the Red Cross Ukraine Appeal. We raised $621.45  for this important cause.

We are excited that face to face Three Way Interviews are happening over the coming weeks. For many parents/carers this will be the first opportunity in 2022 to meet face to face with teachers and step inside your child’s classroom. We value positive relationships with families as we know it supports children, their learning and their wellbeing. These interviews are one way we can work together and build strong relationships. Our goal is to meet with all families. If you haven’t booked an appointment yet, there is still time to do so.

I’m new to Brighton and I would love to meet you and hear your experiences of Brighton PS. I invite you to join me at a Parent Forum. Scan the QR code to book into one of the sessions.

Have a great weekend. See you next week.

Regards, Rebecca
