Weekly Wrap Up

Dear Families,

It was a delight to welcome all students back on site this week. There were lots of happy faces! A special welcome to those students and their families who stepped onto Brighton PS for the first time. Our first assembly for 2022 was held via Teams. We hope you share our excitement for the year ahead and we look forward to coming together as a community once the COVID restrictions lift.

Great news…. the new playground equipment near LA4 is currently being installed and we expect by the end of next week the children will be playing on it.

Congratulations to Deb Tune who has won an Acting Assistant Principal position at Paringa Park Primary School until the end of term 2. We wish Deb all the best for her next adventure. We are pleased to welcome Stephanie Carnovale to our community, she will starring as the Foundation Teacher in 3.2.

Today I held my first Friday Forums, meeting with 18 children. This term my Friday Forums will provide an opportunity for me to hear from students their experience of  Brighton PS – what they like about the school, their highlights and their wishes for the future.  The children spoke very highly of the school, the staff, the facilities, the extra curricula activities and the relationships they have with their peers and teachers. They all shared their love of learning at Brighton. I look forward to sharing more student insights with you and Governing Council over the coming weeks.

Thank you to everyone for working with us to keep our community safe. Please continue to keep your child/ren at home if they are unwell, even with mild symptoms and inform us if your child tests positive for COVID.

You said in the 2021 Parent Survey that you wanted the school to provide more tips on how you can help your child at home.  We did…. we have subscribed to ‘Parenting Ideas’ and will share articles  with you regularly via the Blog. This week we shared an article by Michael Grose about supporting  children amid the Pandemic.

What’s on next week (week 4)

Monday 21st February: Annual General Meeting and GC Meeting via Teams

Have a great weekend. Stay safe and well.

Regards, Rebecca
