Year 7 critique session with Fulton Hogan helps students refine their design solutions.

On Tuesday 3 representatives from Fulton Hogan Utilities visited the school to support the year 7 students with finalising their design solutions. The students had a final chance to ask questions and get their industry partner critique their ideas in order to narrow down a final solution. The students showed them their models, explained the construction process and justified their choice of materials. The feedback they received was invaluable and will now govern how they proceed. Some groups will simply tweak their design others will redesign with new information and greater understanding.

Critique is sometimes difficult to hear and the students were certainly very committed to their solution however they reflected on the advice  given in order to improve their thinking. The teachers were extremely impressed with the way students managed this stage in the Engineering Design Process.

Well done year 7s.
