As advised by the Minister for Education and following public health advice, all preschools and schools will remain open:
- In Week 10 it is assumed that all children will be attending school where parents prefer/are unable to supervise Learning at Home.
- In Week 11 staff will use Pupil Free Days to set up Learning at Home and Learning on Site programs ready for next term.
- Subsequently children will be either Learning at Home or Learning on Site depending on circumstances.
- Current OSHC services will remain open wherever possible.
Please complete this form in regards to whether your child/ren will be attending school, learning at home and OSHC details if known.
It is crucial this form is returned by Monday 6th April as it will assist staff with week 11 planning to meet the educational needs of all students.

Put very simply, we will accept any student at any time.

Hi Ian, can I ask for some clarification; in split family instances (for example, week on week off custody) where one parent is able to work from home and one works, is it feasible to attend school week on week off?
The short answer is yes Melissa. Just update your child’s teacher so they are aware.

Please could you clarify is the form that is to be completed in reference to Term 2?

Nicki-the form applies for term 2, not week 11. My latest post clarifies everything I believe.

Can you clarify if Y7 students who come to school in term 2 will be following a fully online learning program or will this be blended as it has been this week? Both parents will still be working.

Fiona-for this week the year 7 community has been trialling what ‘at school, at home’ learning will look like with the view that both approaches COULD be the same next term. However we believe this could pose enormous challenges for parents who are overseeing their child’s learning at home. Candice, Lucas, Nicole and Michael have been working very collaboratively to ensure a quality package of learning is planned for each week, the whole term. In week 11, time will be spent to refine this, clarify expectations, be explicit regarding student assessment, what the level of student engagement should be and a myriad of other challenges. Modifications and enhancements will be ongoing. On Friday morning I am meeting with 8 parents, most of whom are on our Governing Council, to gather their views to help shape our thinking.

I feel like currently all informations are very confusing. If one parent is not working and if you have access to online learning possibilities – is it recommended to keep the children at home during term 2? Will school remain open only for essential workers?

Sara-the choice to send your child to school or keep at home for ‘at home learning’ is a parental one. I make no recommendation either way. School will remain open in term 2 for any student. An essential worker is defined as anyone who is working-stocking Woolworths shelves, a doctor, a nurse, a garbage truck driver. That is my interpretation and I think that is the PM’s definition. We are open until for any student next term.
