Communications Update

We have implemented a couple of new tools in our constant pursuit to improve the electronic communications problems.  One of these takes the Daily Digest email produced at 5.00pm on any day there is new posts and places it in a queue.

This queue is then processed progressively limiting the number of emails going out at any one time.  This is aiding in our site/server not being seen as a spamming service.  What this does mean is that you will no longer receive the email at 5.00pm, but anywhere after 5.00pm.  So far it appears the queue seems to clear entirely by approximately 9.30pm.

From the logs we get to see here, it appears that the success level is high.  If you have not received the Digest email on Friday or Tuesday can you please have another look at your Junk/Spam folders, and if still no luck, go to the front page of the blog and resubmit your email address.

Secondly, the other tool is one that allows the email to be HTML formatted, meaning graphical and more user friendly.  We are finalising the template for that and what you will notice soon is that the Daily Digest email will have a similar presentation to the front page of the blog in that it will have the title, image and intro text to each post.

  1. Glad to hear the blog posts will now be HTML formatted. This will be much more user friendly, engaging and therefore more fit for purpose.
