Students in Foundation to year 2 will partake in JP Singing on Tuesday or Thursday mornings on a rotating roster.
Years 3, 4 and 5 can come join our brand new Junior Choir @Lunch on Tuesdays in the Music Room. This choir is open to all students who demonstrate great attitudes and strong commitment. I will be looking for 2 Junior Choir leaders and will explain the application process at our first practice in week 4. It will start out as a more of an organisational role. We will be joining our other partnership schools (Paringa Park, St Leonards, Warradale, Glenelg) for a mini Festival of Music at the end of Term 2.
Years 6 and 7 should join our Senior Choir/Festival of Music Choir @1:45 Thursdays in the Music Room. The huge event has been running for 128 years and last year alone saw over 6,000 South Australian public schools students on the Festival Theatre stage. It’s an unmissable opportunity to sing with so many voices and even Mr Filer remembers having a great time singing with so many other students! I will also be looking for applications for Senior Choir Leaders. This role will start out more organisational, but I hope to work with successful applicants to help run sectionals and warm ups down the track.
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Good communication skills
- organisational skills
- punctuality
- helpful behaviours
- be reliable and trustworthy
- Basic ICT skills
